Elitch Gardens Adds 17-Stories of Fun to Denver Skyline
High Flying New Thrill Ride Construction Complete This Week
DENVER, CO (February 24, 2017) – This week Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park erected its new 17-story thrill ride, Star Flyer, the park’s seventh new attraction in the last six years. While everyone else is thinking about hitting the slopes, bluebird days and snowy powder, Elitch Gardens is thinking spring! Crews continue working tirelessly to fully assemble the high-flying attraction so it is ready to ride for the park’s opening weekend.
Star Flyer Fun Facts:
- Weighs over 193,600 lbs.
- Boasts more than 70,000 LED lights
- Over a mile of chain links
On this extreme swing ride, 48 guests sit two across in open-air seats, feet dangling and hair blowing while ascending to the top of the 17-story tower and flying round and round at more than 50 mph. Riders will enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of their favorite park attractions, the Denver skyline and the Rocky Mountains.
